Your business: How many people do you employ in Northamptonshire and, in a few words, can you tell us what your company does?
There are nine of us in the business and we provide coffee and vending services. We supply a comprehensive range, from vending machines with fulfilment services to professional coffee machines, as well as the locally roasted ingredients and products to serve with them.
Why have you chosen this particular category to sponsor and what aligns your business to the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards?
As we come from the refreshment and beverage industry we thought it made perfect sense for us to sponsor the drinks reception when the opportunity came up. Although not directly linked to the industry, it’s naturally one we use every day and is therefore important to the running of our business.
What major challenges do you think the logistics sector/ your sector faces?
We’re finding that there is a lack of young people looking to join the industry on the vending and engineering side of the business. It won’t come as a surprise that the espresso side of coffee receives a lot of interest, but traditional vending still comes with something of a bad name. The truth is that traditional vending is moving at just as quick a pace as coffee and machinery and quality is increasing constantly. The vending that people think of when they hear the word will always have its place but there is so much more to it now.
And how will your company tackle these challenges?
It’s our job to get the message out there that there is more to vending than just what people have come to know over the past thirty years and it genuinely is very interesting! Vending set ups can now include ‘towers’, like you’ll see in garage forecourts, which offer high quality bean to cup coffee.
